A week, a month, a year…

Squares 12/12/11

December 12th, 2011

A little taste of late fall/early winter in the Phoenix area. We do have a few deciduous trees here including cottonwood, aspen, and Japanese maple to give us some color. And, yes, we do get rainy days like the one we’re having today.

Thus ends the squares experiment for this past month. Hope you’ve enjoyed looking at photos a little differently. For me, it’s a bit of a throwback. I know people are seeing more and more photos framed in squares rather than rectangles nowadays due to services like Instagram, but I thought I’d have a little fun with the concept and see if I could see the world a little differently.

I’m toying with the idea of launching a new month long project in January. It involves trying to get decent results out of a rather disappointing camera purchase I made last year, an Olympus FE-47. Maybe the camera and I just didn’t have time to figure each other out. Or, maybe, it’s just a crappy camera. I don’t know, but if this project goes ahead, we’ll all have more insights about that at the end of next month.
