For anyone who thinks of Arizona as a barren desert with nothing but sunshine and sand, here’s a photo to prove otherwise.
We’ve had a lot of rain for us this winter. There’s even water flowing in the Salt River through downtown Phoenix where there’s usually a large dry riverbed. This scene from the northeastern end of South Mountain shows lots of underbrush and some larger green plants growing under a nearly clear blue sky.
That sky will be grey again tomorrow as Mother Nature brings us more rain for more greenery and lot of other colors to come during what promises to be one of the most spectacular wildflower seasons in a long time.
