This little rock came from the Arizona Mining and Mineral Museum that PJ and I toured last Friday. Near exhibits people would normally see last in the museum, there’s an old wheelbarrow full of rocks with small plastic bags and a sign that says you may take up to three rocks for free. We both took advantage of that generous offer and found some interesting stones in the process.
In the relative darkness of the museum I thought I had found a piece of rock with some copper ore in it. Turns out it might just be turquoise. Whatever it is, it’s an interesting rock and will be kept on hand for display and, possibly, the occasional photo shoot.
